For me, guitar was not always about learning guitar. It began as a way to release stress and spend quiet time with myself. I never imagined that I would be a musician, singer/songwriter (maybe I did imagine, but I didn’t believe) or that I would be teaching guitar.

Over the past year, I have channeled my creative blessings and turned my gifts into something that I can share with you. What does that mean? More than guitar, I realize that I have taught my students how to write their own songs, the importance of balance, the value in writing and many other lessons. They have also taught me how to become a better teacher.

I have created worksheets that will aid the visual learners and give a framework for practice exercises. With guitar chords charts and strumming symbols, you will learn to play basic rhythm and blues guitar. With these chords and strumming patterns, I can teach you how to play basic melodies for popular hits, write your own songs, discover new chords, and enjoy your journey as a musician.

For each student, I build an individual lesson plan and discuss it as the course matures. During the course, I may administer weekly quizzes to help you learn what areas need improvement, or how you can proceed with your guitar, based on the chords that you can play. We will start with guitar, and over time, you may delve into other areas with your instrument. You will get to decide how much of each session you want to devote to guitar, songwriting, writing, vocal instruction, creativity etc.

I teach online and “on the ground.” You may also want to do a hybrid course. For these students, we would begin meeting in person and as you become more comfortable, we would transition to online meetings via Skype. Questions about any of it? Refund Policy

The course fee is non-refundable.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

If need be, weekly lessons must be canceled at least 24-hours prior to the agreed upon lesson time. Canceled lessons must be rescheduled within 7 days of the original lesson time. Rescheduling lessons will be based on my availability for that week and offered no more than 7 days beyond our final scheduled lesson for the aforementioned session. I will do my best to be as accommodating as possible.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, I encourage students and myself to always use our best judgment with regards to safety and travel to the lessons. If you, or I, are unable to come to the lessons, in such weather conditions, we will speak via phone on the day prior, or the day of classes, to reschedule. As a general rule, if the local city/county government offices are closed, lessons will be cancelled and attempts will be made to reschedule. See policy above.
